About Larry Metz

Larry Metz (R)-Yalaha is a member of the Florida House of Representatives House District 25, as well as a civil litigator in the state of Florida. Metz completed his undergraduate work at the University of Florida, graduating in 1976. Upon graduation Metz was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he served from 1976 to 1982. Metz received his Juris Doctor from Florida State University in 1983, graduating with High Honors; he is admitted to the Florida Bar and a member of both the American and Lake County Bar Associations. In addition to his law practice and political career, Metz has served on the Lake County School Board from 2004-2010.

Metz is married to Mariko Metz of Okinawa, Japan and together they have two daughters, Marla and Christina. Some political platforms of Metz’s campaign included the capping of government spending, stricter laws enforcing illegal immigrants, property insurance reform, Medicaid reform, and protecting gun-ownership rights.
